Biography
I was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1986 where I lived for about 4 years before moving to Korea. After spending my childhood in Korea, I moved again (with the family) to Northern Virginia in seventh grade. I have lived in Northern Virginia since. I am now a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I’ve been interested in science for a long time but was never exposed to physics in full scale until my junior year. Last year, I took AP Physics C and got 5 on both mechanics and electromagnetism. I don really know why I became to like physics. I guess I just got hooked by its beauty. I think physics is cool because it can describe complicated physical phenomena with relatively simple equations. Anyhow, I went to physics team at my school and learned quite a lot, but in the US Physics Olympiad, I didn go beyond the preliminary round. This year, I continued to go to the physics team and learned some more. And I am pretty excited to have been invited to the physics camp. I am looking forward to learn even more physics at the physics camp.

In addition to physics, I am also interested in math and computer science. I am an active member of Varsity Math Team and the co-captain of Senior Computer Team. I e participated in number of competitions such as ARML, USACO etc. I e qualified to take AIME since my freshman year, but haven managed to advance to USAMO. This year, I missed it yet again. Oh well. In my free time, I listen to some music, play basketball or waste time surfing on internet. I also play, but not often, other sports such as ultimate frisbee, football and maybe soccer.
