Gabriel C. Spalding Becomes President of AAPT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
College Park, Maryland, January 28, 2025—As the Winter 2025 Meeting came to a close the presidential gavel was presented to Gabriel Spalding.
He will serve as President of the American Association of Physics Teachers for the coming year. Spalding has been a member of AAPT since 1992 and has served in several positions, including Board of Directors At-Large Representative for Four-Year colleges.
He ends his emails saying, “All of us, together, make a difference,” which is intended as a call towards greater engagement with one another. I see AAPT as “The Big Tent” for all who are interested in physics education, and am interested in working to enhance the ways in which AAPT can provide timely assistance (and resources) for the wide spectrum of people we aim to serve.
A past member of several AAPT Committees, Spalding brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position.
About AAPT The AAPT is the premier national organization and authority on physics and physical science education with members worldwide.
