Summer 2025 Fellow, Manjula Sharma, Announced
Manjula Sharma Recognized as Summer 2025 AAPT Fellow
The 2025 AAPT Fellows Awardee, Manjula Sharma, has been announced. AAPT Fellows are distinguished physicists, educators, administrators, and communicators who have been recognized for their contributions to the physics education community.
Sharma, an international leader in physics education research is Professor of Science Education at The University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia. Her work has enriched the AAPT community via her (and her students') many invited and contributed presentations at AAPT meetings for two and a half decades. She has more than 150 publications on improving the teaching and learning of physics, and has served as an excellent role model and mentor for students, including women of color. Professor Sharma is hereby recognized as an AAPT Fellow for her seminal contributions to the teaching and learning of physics in many different strands.
About the Award
The criterion for selection of Fellows is exceptional contribution to AAPT's mission, to enhance the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching. Fellowship is a distinct honor signifying recognition by one's professional peers. Any AAPT member is eligible for nomination for Fellowship. Nominations are evaluated by the AAPT Awards committee and approved by the AAPT Board of Directors.
