The AAPT/Physics Teaching Resource Agents (PTRA) program provides peer-led professional development for K-12 teachers of physics and physical science. The foundation of the AAPT/PTRA program is the annual Summer Institute, which provides PD on pedagogy, classroom applications for technology, STEM and NGSS applications, and physics content. The institute prepares these master teachers to return to their community as PD providers.
The PTRA 2017 Summer Leadership Institute will be held before the AAPT Summer Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dates for the institute are July 19-22, 2017. Physics teachers who are current PTRAs or master teachers with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience who would like to be a PTRA may apply by filling out the link at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PTRA17. PTRAs are highly experienced teachers of physics who would like to become involved in providing professional development to their peers and colleagues.
