Start your Winter Meeting journey with the First Timer's Gathering, a relaxed and friendly event tailored for newcomers. Meet fellow attendees, connect with experienced members, and build relationships that will last beyond the conference. This is your chance to break the ice, ask questions, and get to know the amazing community that makes Winter Meeting so special. Come join us and kick off your experience on the right note!
When: Saturday, January 18 from 4:45 PM to 5:15 PM
Early Career Professional Speed Networking
Career development and networking can be time consuming, so AAPT is offering a fun and exciting way to get connected to a large number of early career and seasoned physics professionals in a short amount of time. Speed networking provides the opportunity to discuss career goals and challenges with a new contact for five minutes, exchange information, and then move on to the next person. By the end of the event each participant will have meaningful interactions with over half a dozen colleagues and the opportunity to meet many more. If you think you made a good contact, follow up with the person and schedule a time to meet for coffee. It's that simple! By the end of the first day of the conference, you would have already made several personal connections with other attendees. If you have business cards, don't forget to bring them.

New to the Winter Meeting or need a refresher? Join us for Winter Meeting 101, a practical session designed to help you navigate the conference with confidence. Learn the ins and outs of the meeting schedule, discover must-attend sessions, and get tips on maximizing your experience. Whether you’re a first-timer or just looking to brush up, this session will ensure you’re prepared to make the most of your time at Winter Meeting!
When: Sunday, January 19 from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM
Game Night
Unwind and connect with fellow attendees at Game Night! Bring your favorite board games, card games, or other tabletop games to share, and enjoy an evening of fun and friendly competition. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, meet new people, and make lasting memories. Don’t forget to bring a game to join the fun!
